Metal Gear Solid 5 Africa Side OPs Guide
I am doing this as I go so check back soon for updates.
This one is easy to get but I alerted the camp when I extracted him. You can find him here, protected by three enemy guards.
You can sneak up to the house he is in easily enough. Take out the guards in front and then grab the prisoner. You can either extract him outside the house or bring him out of the camp and do it. I got caught by extracting him right outside the house but there were plenty of soldiers worth taking there anyways.
This is where you can find the prisoner being held.
Now there are 6 enemies in the area. One is a sniper and one is in the guard tower. I took the guard tower guy out with my Tranq gun silenced and then moved into the tent to take out the rest. You will want to do this quietly so you don’t alert the sniper. Silence weapons and head shots all the way here. Once they are down, Tranq the sniper. He had a A rating and skill for me so I captured him. Free the prisoner and then you beat the Side Op.
Trust me on this one, avoid getting caught here. I got caught and it ended up being a fire fight with me against like 20 enemies. I had enough explosives to deal with them thankfully but it’s better to avoid it. Here if where you can find the prisoner.
If you stick to the upper side of the base you should be able to avoid most enemies and get to the prisoner. Just be ready with a silenced weapon just in case.
This one is actually a bit tricky because the guy moves and he rolls with three extra enemies. The enemies all have helmets on but the guy you need to capture doesn’t. I would bring a stun grenade for this mission. I waited here for him to patrol by.
Once he came I shot him with a Tranq dart to the head with my silenced pistol. This will alert the other three and that is where the Stun Nade comes in handy. Toss that into the middle of them and they should all hit the deck. When they do that, extract the sleeping guy and kill them all before they can get up. The nade and you firing will alert the men but you can get out before they come down on you. There are alot of supplies here so I stuck around and cleared out the camp with Quiet support sniping for me. Either way you got your target.
Finding him was the easy part, getting him out was alot harder. He is right next to a Armored Vehicle that doesn’t move unless it sees you. I crawled up close enough to the target and Tranqed him a few times in the chest, he has a helmet so head shots are out. From there I planted all my C4 on the vehicle. After that I extracted the target, which got my noticed, and then ran and blow up the car. From there I just escaped.
Thinking back on it, you could probably extract the vehicle as well.
This one is kind of tricky so you should go at night. There are about 6 soldiers, a tank and a chopper that you have to deal with so bring a launcher. Here is the tank location, the chopper will be patrolling.
If you use your scope you should see a sniper team looking over the tank. I crawled up to them and took that whole team down without alerting anyone. After that I crawled to the tank and extracted it. This alerted the next squad of soldiers and they came to check it out. I killed two and extracted the one I wanted. There is still a lone troop roaming around you will need to deal with as well. I shot the chopper down with my launcher and he came to me. Taking the last guy down will win you mission.
Sneak into the airport and use the buildings as cover as you work your way to the blueprint. If you stick to the back of the buildings you will only run into 2-3 enemies. Grab the blueprint and get out.
I actually took out the whole camp because everyone here was A+ or A++ and I wanted them. If you just want to sneak into the tent and grab the blueprint though that’s easy enough. Watch out for the truck that patrols through there.
It is very hard to sneak up on him because he is always on alert. Once he had the ! over his head and he turned around, I took a shot with my Tranq pistol and got him in the face. You might want to bring the Tranq sniper rifle to get the head shot at a distance.
