360-Degree Horror Film 11:57 Comes to Oculus Rift
The Oculus Rift is making strides in the virtual reality space, with the headset supporting everything from video games to movies. But what if you were to combine the two, and throw in a dash of horror? Introducing 11:57, a horror film for the Oculus Rift billed as a “360-degree nightmare.”
Created by international ad agency Sid Lee, 11:57 is a four-minute virtual reality horror film made for the Oculus Rift. Unlike other films that require no interaction from the viewer, 11:57 makes the spectator the main character of the film. That means the action revolves around the viewer as if they are on the set, with the action taking place around them at all times.
Sounds fancy, right? It’s more technical trickery than anything else — 11:57 was filmed using six GoPro HERO3+ units in a 360 degree mount.
Those who want to brave the world of 11:57 (and have an Oculus Rift) can download everything you need here.
