Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain Guide: Buddy Location Guide
In Metal Gear Solid 5 you will be able to bring buddies with you on your missions. They all have different skills and can be helpful in different ways. This Metal Gear Solid 5 buddy location guide will help you find them all as you go along.

Metal Gear Solid 5 Buddy List

There are going to be some minor spoilers here so look at your own discretion.

D-Horse – This is your starter buddy and very useful until you get some vehicles. Each area in the game is pretty large and going by foot would of taken forever. D-Horse is helpful for getting you to your location in the world quickly. You can also use him to help sneak by enemies by hanging off him.

D-Dog – D-Dog is gotten during Main Mission 4, he will run up to you as a pup when you land. Send him back to Mother Base and Ocelot will train him. He won’t be useable until after Main Mission 10 but he is very useful at scouting. D-Dog will spot enemies, plants, weapons, mines and prisoners from around 100 meters away. This will help anyone plan out an attack on an enemy base. He can also kill, stun and distract enemies depending on his equipment. He is probably my favorite buddy so far.

Quiet – While the other two are hard to miss, Quiet can be killed and not acquired. To capture her you will need to bring the Tranq sniper rifle and out sniper her during the Main Mission 11 battle. If you didn’t bring the Tranq sniper, leave the area and call for evac. Return with the Tranq sniper and just go for head shots. This can be done with your hand to hand and Tranq pistol but the sniper is just so much easier.

D-Walker – You don’t get this until after you complete a couple missions in Africa. D-Walker comes with a Tranq pistol and can be called to your location at any time. It also moves a bit faster then running so it is good for getting around. This can be upgraded with a ton of different weapons and equipment. The downside of D-Walker is you need to man it for it to be effective. I didn’t use this one as much as the other buddies.

I am updating this as I go, so check back soon for more info!
