Salvaging weapons provides crafting materials and sometimes, permanent cosmetic upgrades. This guide on How To Salvage Weapons, Armor, & Gear In Diablo IV will tell you how you can salvage and dismantle your weapons, armor, and equipment to increase your crafting materials and also unlock some awesome transmog options.
Before we dive into how you salvage weapons in Diablo IV, a little tip. When you return to a town you can open your inventory and you may notice a special icon on your items. Inspect your inventory and if you see a small pickaxe icon, mark that item as junk, unless you want to equip it. This will ensure you don’t accidentally sell it. The pickaxe icon represents an item in your inventory that has a cosmetic unlock that you don’t yet have. However, if you sell it, you do not get the cosmetic unlock.
How To Salvage Weapons, Armor, & Gear In Diablo IV
Salvaging weapons and armor is actually really simple. Head to any major town hub and speak with a Blacksmith. Make sure it’s not the weapons or armor vendor, you want the Blacksmith. Then simply speak with the blacksmith. If you have already marked all your junk items, you can select All Junk. This will junk it all and give you any cosmetic unlocks you are due.
Most of the time, you will want to sell your spare gear early game but there’s no harm in salvaging it for crafting materials either.
