Once you reach a certain point in the story of Dragon Quest Heroes 2 you’ll be given a Monster Medal case and introduced to the different types of Monster Medals and how the mechanic works. The Saviour type Monster Medals in Dragon Quest Heroes 2 are very fast, single ability monster summons. Typically, once summoned, they launch or activate a single special ability and then flee from the battlefield. They can be used to clear large groups of enemies, apply beneficial effects to all party members and even remove buffs from enemies.
Dragon Quest Heroes 2 Monster Medals Type Guide Substitutes
The most powerful Monster Medal type in Dragon Quest Heroes 2, Substitutes. Once used they completely remove the character from battle, with a monster taking its place. They don’t last long but have access to 3 unique abilities, making them the perfect solution to a large-scale enemy problem.
Dragon Quest Heroes 2 Monster Medals Type Guide Sentries
The Sentries Monster Medal type in Dragon Quest 2 summons a monster to fight at your side. These typically spawn at your location and continue to fight nearby enemies. They do follow the party but they move incredibly slow so they are often useful for a single battle. They remain at your side until they run out of HP and you can summon as many as your Monster Medals Case can hold. Due to their slow nature they can be great at leaving to defend an objective while progressing forward to the next.
