When you get the freedom to explore the city in Persona 5, you will start to find new Confidants. Sojiro is the guy taking care of you at the Cafe and he will become a confidant when you speak to him. Check out this guide to learn how to increase the Confidant relationship with Sojiro in Persona 5.
Persona 5 Confidant Guide – Sojiro
Like I said above, you can’t really miss the first stage of him. The second one can really be at your leisure, I did it on 4/22. I had Berith, a Hierophant Persona with me and it said the bond would grow more because of this so try to bring one if you can.
IMPORTANT: When speaking with any Confidant in Persona 5, when furthering the relationship is possible, you can receive a huge bonus if you have a matching Arcana Persona in your inventory. When speaking with Sojiro, make sure to bring a Persona in the Hiero Arcana.
When you agree to help him he will tell you he needs to start with the basics, answer “Making Coffee?” to increase the bond. Sojiro might be a bit of a ladies man but he doesn’t slack when it comes to making his coffee. Eventually a random customer will come in and this will make Sojiro uncomfortable. When he leaves, say that “He seemed suspcious” and Sojiro will like that. When he says that ladies love a man who knows his coffee say “I want the ladies to love me” to make him more happy. I got two little music notes for each of these but that might have been because I had Berith with me.
If you are successful here you should get the second rank of the Hierophant Arcana and learn Coffee Basics. Your kindness will also go up from the customer service.
You will have to interact with him more than once if you want to raise the Arcana level again. I actually had to do it three times before he would do an actual interaction with me. When you can finally get the next rank, you need to make some coffee first and show it to him.
When speaking to Sojiro choose “Meduim-fine” first for two notes. Next choose “Is it trouble” for two more notes. This will end the interaction with Sojiro and you will gain the level three Hiero Arcana, no new skill this time.
To get the next rank, you have to hang out with him a lot or make a bunch of coffee. It was around 4-5 times of making coffee and spending time with Sojiro before I could even get the next rank.

This will get you to Hiero rank 4 and let you make Leblanc Curry.
I only had to make coffee once for the next level to become unlocked this time. Coffee is the way to go, you get the item and it doesn’t waste as much time apparently.

I think you need to unlock Futabu as a team mate before you can do the next level. This time I was able to progress to level 6 of the Arcana without any hanging out.
