Metal Gear Solid 5 Specialist Locations

This specialist will unlock more shotguns for you to craft at Mother Base. You can get him during Main Mission 4 – C2W. I did this guide after I had already extracted him so I don’t have an exact location on him. I do know I never left the communications base during this mission, he has to be one of the soldiers in the base or one that comes on the truck.
Another one I did before I started the guide. I am 99% sure the whole point of this mission is to save an engineer from the enemy, pretty sure he’s the specialist. Once of the bonus objectives is to try and extract him through a hole in the basement if you are feeling up to it.
You get this one during the Red Brass Main Mission. There are three commanders in this mission you will need to extract. One is in Da Shago Kallai, another is Wakh Sind Barracks and there is a third in Da Wialo Kallai. One of them ends up being the Radar Specialist, I don’t remember which one. Just play it safe and Tranq each of them.
This is during mission 9, Backup, Back Down. This mission is all about taking out Armored Vehicles so bring all the explosives you can. This is the best spot to wait for them, there are ton of troops in the area so prepare for a fight. Clearing out the fort will give you the best spot to take out enemy vehicles though.
After you destroy two of the vehicles, a prisoner escort vehicle will appear. If you capture him you will get this specialist. Don’t worry, he will come to you if you are here.
After the mission is complete you can also get a Drug Developer here on the map.
It’s a tough fight but worth getting in the long run.
This guy gave me the slip for a long time. You can find him on mission 9 – Backup, Backdown. This is his location on the map. He is alone just wandering so you won’t have to fight anyone to get him.
The Transport Specialist is the most easily missed Specialist in Afghanistan. You get multiple opportunities to get one but something always goes wrong. For instance on main mission 10, Angel With Broken Wings. You can get the Specialist here on the map. The trick is to do it within three minutes because the first I did it he was gunned down before I even was in the base.
He is on the second floor along with another prisoner you might as well get while you are there. Use D Dog to scout out the area if you are having a hard time locating any of them. The Transport Specialist is needed for alot of things so getting one early can help you out.
I’m not 100% sure which one is which in this case because you don’t know what skill they have until you beat the mission. He is either here with the Transport Specialist. This is during mission 10, Angel with Broken Wings.
Or here in the second camp.
I always sneak around the back and crawl through the grate to the Prisoner area. The two prisoners are behind a locked door, normally protected by a guy or two. I use the Tranq silenced pistol on them and then I take the prisoners out into the room the guards are normally in. You can see a hole in ceiling in this room, use that to get them out and you can sneak back out on your own.
I’m not 100% sure which one is which in this case because you don’t know what skill they have until you beat the mission. He is either here with the Transport Specialist. This is during mission 10, Angel with Broken Wings.

This one isn’t actually all that hard if you go with silenced weapons and don’t get caught. He can be found on mission 15 Footprints Of Phantoms. This is his location on the map.
He is below the targets for the mission and not nearly as protected. You will have to take out about 5 guys in order to get him and extract him. Just make sure no one is within 50 meters of they will see him going up and go on alert.
You can get this specialist during mission 17, Rescue the Intel Agents. There are three possible locations for him, I’m not sure which one he is. One is a prisoner in Kiziba Camp, I think it is him. Either way just get all of them to be safe.
The first guy is pretty easy to get out, just sneak around and Tranq or kill anyone that comes across you, quietly. Once you get him out move to the prisoner, which is also pretty easy. He is protected by one guy in a house, silence him and extract the prisoner.
The final guy can be tricky. You need to be quick to avoid any reinforcements joining the fight. I literally crawled all the way through the swamp to avoid the snipers and when I was close, silence Tranqed anyone in range. You can find the last target underground, beneath the wood planks. You will need to use a chopper to get him out.
You have to get this guy before you extract the CIA agent just so you know. This is where you can find him in Da Shago.
I recommend going around to the front entrance, near the building. If you take this route you will only have to deal with a few instead of 10ish. I took two down near the entrance and one near a turret, just because, and grabbed the prisoner. Once I got him out, I extracted him and went on with the main part of the mission.
This specialist can be found during mission 21, To know Too much. You can find him here, outside of the palace.
The objective here is to get to the CIA guy before the enemy does in the desert. Do that first and get him out so you don’t fail the mission. After that go check out the Lamar Palace to the north. If you go at night you can sneak up to the prison cell with minimal enemies. Any enemies you see, take out so the camp doesn’t go on alert. Grab the prisoner. extract him and get out.
You can get this specialist during mission 38 – Extraordinary. You do have to move kind of quick for this one or else the enemy will find the mission item. You can find the specialist here on the map.
The camp isn’t all that well protected so you can clear it out how you see fit. I did the Tranq sniper as I usually do for these types of bases. After you get him, make a run for the mission so you don’t have to get him again.
This one is one of four prisoners in Ditadi Abandoned Village during mission 26. This is where I ended up finding him.
If you don’t find him here just interrogate a soldier to the get location of the rest. I was able to sneak in for this one but if you need to go somewhere else you might need to fight.
